Why do we need to recite the Little House?

Why do we need to recite Little Houses?

There are two kinds of illnesses from a Buddhist point of view. One is caused by your physical body, and the other is caused by foreign spirits. 

Foreign spirits that occupy a living person are usually deceased relatives, aborted or miscarried children, deceased close friends or foes, and foreign spirit(s) from their house.

Many illnesses and misfortunes in life can be attributed to karmic debts from our past lives, giving rise to retribution in our present life. 

This is when karmic creditors will demand the repayment of karmic debts, causing ill health, obstructions in our career, disharmony in our families, poor academic results, bad temper, accidents, etc. 

Some illnesses commonly associated with foreign spirits include cancer, tumours, mental disorders, depression, autism, etc. 

If an illness is caused by a foreign spirit, successful treatment through modern medicine is only possible when the spirit has ascended to a higher spiritual realm.

The Little House is one of the Buddhist practices the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva bestowed upon us to help spirits ascend to a higher spiritual realm and to eliminate our karmic obstacles in this Age of Dharma Decline. 

Through that, one can recover from illnesses, have a smooth career, harmony in family, good academic performance and avoid a lot of calamities. 

This is because the Little House is like a high value cheque in the spirit world which we can use to repay karmic debts from previous lives and provide deceased loved ones with the power to ascend to a higher spiritual realm. 

It is a great tool to use to help ourselves as well as others. It works miracles!
